NY Tweet Up !

Posted by Beverly on March 2nd, 2010

So excited to host this Wedding Industry Tweet Up on March 31, 2010 !

Twitter has been one of those social network tools that though I had a hard time embracing is a unique and practically mandatory tool in this age.

I have met so many amazing people and have learned so much about my own business and connected with so many  of  my peers in the wedding/event planning industry

that I thought it would be a great idea to host a Tweet Up ( A Twitter meeting otherwise known as a Mixer) !

So many people I talk to during the day but have never meet in person ! Taking the cyber connection to a face to face connection is really important in developing working relationships.

Did I mention City Sweets is providing samples of her delicious cupcakes ?

Superhero Party Part I !

Posted by Beverly on February 20th, 2010

So excited to share the Superhero themed party I threw for my lil hero’s second birthday !  What amazing day, the kids had such a great time and were exhausted at the end of the night !  Which is the best compliment because they truly played and played and played ! I wanted to go for a more grown up superhero theme since I am not a big fan of babied anything. I really love the way it turned out. For Part II I’ll share some of the awesome portraits Felix & Dexter took of the guests and the great superhero cut out pictures !

Here is some info on the vendors I used:

Photography : Felix & Dexter

Cake & Cupcakes: Nine Cakes

Signs/Invites/Stickers Design: Etsy Seller Announcing You

Reversible Superhero Capes: Etsy Seller AThingforSewing

Candy: Economy Candy and Dylan’s Candy Bar

Valentine Inspirations

Loved these inspiration boards from postcards and pretties, my fave is the retro valentine and the country valentine !

{description} this is my kind of valentine inspired wedding. it’s both romantic and casual and i’m simply in love with twine.  i’ve kept the board pretty pale with the soft whites and cream with sweet rosey pink accents.

Preston Bailey’s Celebrations Launch Party

Posted by Beverly on January 30th, 2010

Words cannot describe the excitement with which I attended the Preston Bailey “Celebrations” Launch Party at the Armory!

What an amazing collection of the best in the industry and wonderful entertainment.  In addition to a wonderful array of desserts and passed hors d’oeuvres,by Oliver Cheng. There were two musical performances by Martha Wash of C&C Music Factory fame and Gloria Gaynor ( Who sang I Will Survive Live ! Quite  a rush).  The amazing lighting by Levy Lighting really set the tone for the hot and sexy vibe as did the beautiful decor.  Here are some pics from Guest of a Guest of the amazing event and Preston Baileys blog.  And although Preston Bailey is a superstar in the wedding industry he continues to be the most approachable and genuinely nice person I have ever met.  Just serves as a reminder that good things happen to good people and regardless of how talented  you are or how amazing you think your becoming nothing beats having people not only be fans but genuinely love what you represent.  Mr. Bailey stood at the entrance to his magnificent celebration and greeted everyone that came in, personally extending his hand and his embrace, dancing with his guests and enjoying the “Celebration” !

Favorite Places

Posted by Beverly on January 28th, 2010

One of my all time favorite blogs is Design Sponge !

Now while this blog technically doesn’t have to do with weddings it really is a great source for out of the box inspiration on textiles, styling rooms and spaces and general do it yourself decor magic (though many times professionals are identified as well).

My husband thinks I’m crazy but I have this insane idea that one day I am going to flip properties in some southern state ( though I never plan on leaving NY, which makes this dream all the more unrealistic :0 ).  I love perusing thru all the posts on makeovers, gifts and general product finds.

Here are some pics from recent posts, Check out my favorite post this month of the offices of Inspired PR who work in the wedding industry !

Needless to say their office is definitely an inspiration !
