Preston Bailey’s Celebrations Launch Party

Posted by Beverly on January 30th, 2010

Words cannot describe the excitement with which I attended the Preston Bailey “Celebrations” Launch Party at the Armory!

What an amazing collection of the best in the industry and wonderful entertainment.  In addition to a wonderful array of desserts and passed hors d’oeuvres,by Oliver Cheng. There were two musical performances by Martha Wash of C&C Music Factory fame and Gloria Gaynor ( Who sang I Will Survive Live ! Quite  a rush).  The amazing lighting by Levy Lighting really set the tone for the hot and sexy vibe as did the beautiful decor.  Here are some pics from Guest of a Guest of the amazing event and Preston Baileys blog.  And although Preston Bailey is a superstar in the wedding industry he continues to be the most approachable and genuinely nice person I have ever met.  Just serves as a reminder that good things happen to good people and regardless of how talented  you are or how amazing you think your becoming nothing beats having people not only be fans but genuinely love what you represent.  Mr. Bailey stood at the entrance to his magnificent celebration and greeted everyone that came in, personally extending his hand and his embrace, dancing with his guests and enjoying the “Celebration” !

Revisting…

Posted by Beverly on January 19th, 2010

So last night I was in power work mode and starting going through all of my things I love files and came across this Christian Oth (Shot by Michael Falco) wedding featured on Style me Pretty.  I seriously started daydreaming and got lost in the images.  I loved it months ago and fell in love with it all over again !  The design was so vibrant and beautiful I could not stop looking at them.

Check out the link above for parts II and III !

Loved !

Wedding Venue: West Park Winery

Posted by Beverly on November 10th, 2009

In our second stop of the day West Park Winery.  A true winner and the one we ended up choosing it had all the prerequisites, Different (Check !), Uncultivated ( Check !) Ceremony and Reception in both places (Check !) and a clean slate to make their own.

We have so many great plans for the space, here are some pics I was able to take today and check out this flickr album for clearer shots of the beautiful outdoor grounds.

Wedding Venue: Hammond Museum

Posted by Beverly on November 9th, 2009

In the search for the perfect venue, one of our 2010 couples and I started visiting venues a bit past Westchester.  After ruling out Round Hill, Monteverde, Catlin Gardens and Crossed Keys. We went together to visit Hammon Museum and Japanese Garden ( which the couple had previously visited.  The Hammond is a great mix of modern ( with a art gallery entry way) and a great Japanese garden and tea house.  I absolutely loved the space and even though the couple did not choose it, I got so many ideas as we walked through the garden.  Definitely recommend it for those of you looking for a garden wedding with a contemporary twist.

New Leaf Wedding Sneak Peak !

Posted by Beverly on October 13th, 2009

Yesterday we had the most amazing day, super sunny, semi-warm breeze, ok it was pretty cold… but the guest braved the weather to see our couple Shung and David tie the knot in the beautiful Linden Terrace of Fort Tryon Park. Their reception immediately followed at the New Leaf Cafe with cocktails in the main dining room and dinner and dancing in the tented area outside. By far one of the happiest groomsmen I have seen to date. They were so genuinely happy for their friend they spent the night singing sings, slinging jokes and by the end of the night propping each other up :) . All in all it was a great day ! Below are some pics I was able to grab while we were running around, can’t wait to see what Jeff of Jeffrey Lau Photo sends me.

Ceremony: Linden Terrace @ Fort Tryon Park
Reception: New Leaf Cafe

Real Wedding Fire Island: Ilana and Jonathan

Photographer: Sarah Sloboda
Coordinator: Beverly Johnson for Capries Events
Ceremony Venue: Fire Island Synagogue
Reception Venue: Maguires Restaurant
Florist: Debbie @ The Gallery
Entertainment: Andy Statman Trio

One of our new favorite locations and favorite weddings!
Here is a sneak preview, all photos unless otherwise noted are property of the talented
Sarah Slaboda.
Logistically a bit traumatizing at first glance ( there are no cars allowed on Fire Island !), but in the end all bode well and we had an awesome time with the couple and the guests. A lot of walking for sure… Congratulations Ilana and Jonathan ! Can’t wait for a return trip to Fire Island next season.
